My system just stoppped working - Call to undefined function

Hi,

My site:  http://www.humor.co.il/kiki/kikipedia.php?wakka=Home Was working perfectly till few days ago. Suddenly I get the following line:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_detect_encoding() in /home/anakonda/public_html/kiki/kikipedia.php on line 240

Was my site hacked? Can I search for any clue in the DB itself? Maybe a vicious user/member did something?

No idea what happened here since I didn't changed anything. I tried overwriting the php.php and other important files but with no success.

I have no idea which version I used but the site is running perfectly for at least a year now.

Help would be appreciated.

It doesn't look to me like you're running a native Wikka: the simple fact you have a file called kikipedia.php suggests that you probably modified the source. The name of the undefined function (not a default Wikka method) suggests you probably tried to modify the code to support non-Latin content, did you?

If you let us know what this kikipedia.php corresponds to, that would help.

Thanks for your response. I did modified the source to work with the Hebrew language but few days ago the code worked perfectly.

I got this fixed by the server people. I think they upgraded the PHP engine to 5.x Now it works.

I got a new issue which prevents people from updating pages and/or add new ones. Again, I believe it's a server issue.
