MIME types are sometimes known as "content types", e.g.
text/plain or application/x-java-jnlp-file.
You can also run it standalone as an application
with
        java.exe -jar mimecheck.jar
It also tells you what it should be sending.
You can invoke it as an applet with an optional
URL parameter you want automatically checked.

To install, Extract the zip download with WinZip, available from
http://www.winzip.com (or similar unzip utility) into any
directory you please, often C:\ -- ticking off the "user
folder names" option. To run as an application, type:
java.exe -jar C:\com\mindprod\mimecheck\mimecheck.jar
adjusting as necessary to account for where the jar file is.
Why the pink and black stripe tee shirt logo? It is similar
to the black and white striped costume of the the mime, but
less obnoxious.
The JavaScript invoker urlcheck.html and mimecheck.js have
been discontinued.
